Jan 3rd: The Cocker Spaniel Club's annual Puppy Challenge event for which Gracie had qualified.  She managed to get through just the first round!
Jan 20th: Nuneaton & DCS Match Night.  Maddie (Delindere Dare T'Be Diffrent) making her first public outing.  She coped well and was placed 3rd in the Puppy Walk - a good class of new babies!.  Gracie also did well by winning Best Adult & Best In Match.
Jan 31st: Rugby & DCSA disappointing show for Gracie but Chrissie managed, somehow, to take Reserve Best Of Breed.
Feb 1st: Home Counties Cocker Club Open Show.  A good day for Gracie as she won her 2 classes which took her that bit closer to gaining her final points toward her Junior Warrant.
Feb 17th: Nuneaton's Match Night - Maddie, this month, won the Puppy Walk.
Mar 1st: Sheffield & DKA.  Another disappointing day with Gracie taking just a 2nd in her class.
Mar 14th: South Wales & Mon Cocker Club Champ Show.  Gracie, won her first class and took 2nd in her second - this meant she had gained the final points for her Junior Warrant!!
Mar 17th: Nuneaton's Match Night.  Another Puppy Walk win for Maddie with Gracie winning Best Adult.
Apr 5th: Newcastle (Staffs) & DCS.  Gracie's first show out of Junior and she won a lovely quality Post Grad class.
Apr 19th: East Anglian Cocker Spaniel Society Champ Show.  Not such a good day today - Gracie just a 4th in her class.
May 24th: Edwinstowe & DCS.  Maddie's first proper show today - she showed very well and was placed 2nd in a good puppy class.
June 1st: European Winner Dog Show, Dublin.  First time over the Irish sea for Maddie but with Gracie for company she traveled very well.  After spending a couple of gloriously hot days in Larne with our friends, we drove down to Dublin to attend our first ever show held under the 'FCI' system where C.A.C.I.B's were on offer as well as 'Green Stars'.  Their system of judging is quite different to ours as all exhibits are graded and then, depending on the grade received, you are placed in your class.  Maddie in the puppy bitch class was graded 'promising' and placed 2nd.  Gracie was entered in the intermediate class where she was graded 'excellent' and placed 3rd.  Judging in the south of Ireland is always 'interesting' and it will be a long while before we repeat this experience!
June 7th: Melton Mowbray & DCS. Another 2nd place in the puppy class for Maddie.
July 18th: Tamworth & DCS.  Both girls out again today.  Maddie again 2nd in her puppy class but, Gracie won her class was awarded Best of Breed and then went on to 2nd place in a very strong Gundog Group.
Aug 1st: National Gundog Ch.Sh.  Hannah came with us today and she won the Veteran Bitch class which qualified her for Crufts 2010.  Gracie took a 2nd in graduate bitch, a very strong class.
Sept 26th: Belfast Ch.Sh.  Back to Ireland this weekend but north not south.  Took both girls again - Maddie did not do as well as we hoped having to make do with a 4th in puppy bitch but we did not mind too much as her sister Ruth won the class!  Gracie did better by taking 2nd in a very strong Post Grad class being beaten by the RCC winner.
Oct 4th: American Cocker Club GB Ch.Sh.  Today Evie went to her first show in England.  Unfortunately she did not like the experience much but, she did manage to qualify for Crufts 2010.
Nov 14th: Huntingdonshire CS.  A very interesting day here.  Maddie yet again 2nd but, in the junior class this time with Gracie also taking a 2nd in the not so strong open class!
Dec 15th: Nuneaton & DCS Xmas Match & Dog of the Year 2009 competition.  Maddie, although she had qualified several times was beaten for Pup of the Year but was pleased that Gracie was declared Dog of the Year.
